As for me, I’m based in Auckland, New Zealand.
I’ve worked for 15+ years in the digital industry. I still have fond memories of my Amiga and Commodore 64 (thank goodness I have a tech-savvy father), floppy disks and that iconic sound of dial-up internet (music to my ears).
I’ve had the privilege of working with hundreds of clients over the years; on their websites, search, digital marketing and social media, crossing almost every industry.
Let’s not kid ourselves here. You don’t know me from a bar of soap (I still don’t know the origin of that saying, but as you’ll find out, I love proverbs and sayings, oh and puns – sorry in advance).
We both know a good name-drop builds trust, so here are some of the clients I’ve worked for on digital and social media:

What exactly have I been doing with myself over those 15 years, you ask?
Well, only since you asked… I founded my own digital agency that specialised in offering digital expertise to advertising, media and PR agencies. I’ve since sold the business and Orchid continues to run today.
I’m currently the Digital Director for Tenfold Creative. I was also the Digital Director for Lassoo Media & PR. In-between I became head of digital and the social media manager for JWT. I also worked with conversion specialists Alkemi in Australia.
I’m currently freelancing as well so if you’ve got anything you need help with but can’t justify adding a new staff member to your team, I could be your gal (feel free to get in touch).
Yeah yeah, la-de-dah, I hear you mumble (don’t think I didn’t see that eyeroll too), but what about being in touch with consumers huh?
I also owned my own retail store for 6 years, and have spent as much time ‘client-side’ as working for agencies.
My most recent stint being the Marketing Manager for the Shore City mall for 3 years, working with 70 retailers and doing everything from promotions and events in-store to online with my own two-hands.
I also had the pleasure of starting my career with B2B supplier Petware, working up to being their Marketing Manager. They import and manufacture thousands of pet products and pet food, and are the biggest supplier to Vets and pet stores in NZ.
So no, I don‘t just live in a digital silo and I don’t just
tell others what to do do digital strategy from up-above, I practice what I preach.
I know digital and social need to be part of a holistic approach to your marketing mix, that doing it just because your competitors are is the wrong reason, and that digital and social need to be measurable and commercially viable for you.
That’s who I am and why this blog exists.
